Where Is RPWA: Russia, Singapore, and Back in Business in Napa Valley

Social media can give even the tiniest of glimpses into the lives of others. In our new series, we’re rounding up what a handful of our Wine Advocate team members have been up to over the past week. Join us along our ever-changing tasting adventures.

After a tumultuous week of devastating wildfires in Northern California, we are pleased to report that our Napa office is back in business. “Everyone is striving for normalcy as an army of commendable firefighters inch closer and closer to full containment,” says editor-in-chief Lisa Perrotti-Brown. “Our hearts remain with all who have lost so much and are still at risk.”

Wine Advocate deputy editor @laceymarlow made her way back to smoky St. Helena. #homesweethome

Neal Martin made a quick trip to Moscow: “Very impressed by sommeliers and wine lovers that I met. Russian wines show promise.”

Wine Journal editor @abbelew celebrated her birthday with duck nachos, naturally.

Many congratulations to our Spain reviewer, Luis Gutierrez, as the English translation of his book is at the printer!

When in Singapore, eat at one of the many Hawker Centers. Here, Joe Czerwinski feasts on spicy pork noodles at Phot Street and washes it down with a refreshing, non-alcoholic passion fruit/basil “Mojito.”
