New Additions to The Wine Advocate: September 2018

Attention, readers: In case you missed it, we posted not one but two new issues of The Wine Advocate last week: Mid-September New Releases – Part Two and Interim End of September 2018.

In pursuit of our goal to provide readers with reviews of wines as soon as (or before) they hit the market, we've been publishing new reports much more frequently. And we certainly don't want you to miss a single new review, so we've summarized the latest additions for you below.

Included in the Mid-September New Releases – Part Two is the much-anticipated report on the new releases from Turley Wine Cellars – 2016 Vintage. In this report, reviewer William Kelley explains, "With the 2016 vintage, reviewed here, Passalacqua feels that 'the perfume is back,' as vines that are recovering from draught conditions have once again produced wines abundantly endowed with fragrant, vibrant fruit tones. They all come warmly recommended." In addition to those 42 new releases from California, you'll also want to check out the latest report on Beaujolais 2016 and 2017, which includes a cool 600 wine reviews, covering Gamay in all its forms.

We've also got a fantastic lineup for you in the Interim End of September 2018, ranging from initial notes on new releases to checkups on back vintages, wines from well-known A-list producers as well as up-and-coming names to add to your list. Editor-in-chief Lisa Perrotti-Brown's collection of reviews in Spotlight on Tor Kenward is the result of a few opportunities she had over the summer to taste through the TOR current releases as well as "an amazing To Kalon vertical with the newest member of Tor’s team, Matt Deller, who was recently appointed as the COO for the winery."

Meanwhile, Italy reviewer Monica Larner shines the Spotlight on Bibi Graetz in Tuscany. She also completed the latest installment of reviews in 2014 Barolo, 2015 Barbaresco & More (New Releases) – Part Three. Speaking of multi-part reports, Joe Czerwinski reviewed a whopping 230 wines in South Australia: Part Two – Mostly McLaren Vale and compiled just under 100 wine reviews in Miscellany from the South of France.
