Le Mangevins

This wonderful little bistro, which can’t seat more than 15 or 18 people by the look of it, is run by a young Asian couple. It features terrific French bistro food – lots of slow-cooked meats and local specialties from the Northern Rhone. They also have an excellent wine list. I stopped there briefly with my wife and had the house Champagne along with wonderful braised beef in a rich vegetable-based brown sauce. My wife had a chicken dish that was also simply prepared but very flavorful. I highly recommend this eatery. It is reasonably priced, has terrific wine list, and sits directly across from the Le Pavillon Hotel in Tain l'Hermitage.
