Dear Readers,
On Wednesday, August 31st at 12 noon USA EDT, we
will be publishing Wine Advocate Issue 226. We have an incredible line-up of regions
and wines being featured this issue, making it nearly impossible to list the
highlights without listing all 26 articles. To name but a few, there are some
cracking North and Central Coasts California reviews by Robert Parker and Jeb
Dunnuck. Over in France, Neal Martin has been from one end of Burgundy
(Chablis) to the other (Beaujolais), and managed a side trip to Bordeaux. Luis
Gutierrez has been minding the gap in Rioja, while Monica has been traipsing ‘round
the hallowed Brunello di Montalcino vines. Stephan has remained on home-turf in
Germany, but our wayward critic, Mark Squires, has gone all exotic in Israel,
Greece, Portugal and, er, New Jersey (yup!). I’ve still been scouting about the
ancient vines of South Australia. And I’m excited to report that our newest
critic – Liwen Hao – has just penned our very first official Sake report!
